Going way back.
Born in Acapulco, Mexico my parents brought me and my sister to California with short term visas & decided to call this place home at age 3. Spanish was my first language when I started pre-school but eventually figured out how to to Speak english well enough to even go to college! Even though I wasn’t an excellent student, I’ve always been fascinated with learning & love challenging myself.
Summer of 1999, I met a guy on Microsoft Chat on Windows 99 when the start of any conversation included these letters: A/S/L. He lived in Texas which seemed like halfway around the world for me. Miraculously, we met in person in 2001 when I was only 15 and he was 16. Eventually, we got married in 2008. Through the storms of life we emerged on the other side. By God’s grace and our church family, we now have an amazing marriage & a beautiful girl named Emma.
Discoveries in College.
During all this, I received my Bachelors in Business at the University of California, Riverside. In college I discovered my passion for the outdoors, fitness, and strangely enough, a fascination with whole foods.
It all began when my mom introduced me to a man who had transformed from an obese drug addict to a vibrant healthy man in pursuit of healing through raw foods.
I became obsessed. I had no idea food had such healing abilities and such an impact on your entire wellbeing.
The next few years, you’d find me sitting in class eating an entire raw mango or whatever else I considered real food. On the weekends, you’d find me hiking, climbing, rappelling, kayaking, canyoneering, all over California as an Outdoor Excursion Leader for UCR.
Business put to practice.
Around the same time, my husband’s hobby was turning into a full time job. He had discovered how to sell BMW parts and services to people all around the world. Since he was doing so well and I was majoring in business, it made sense to join his dream. Our goal was to open a full service auto recycling warehouse for German vehicles. Little did I know I’d be working full time for one of his vendors (a local auto recycling yard) just to realize we did not want that for our family.
Where am I going with this?
Basically, I put my passions on hold while we focused on figuring out what we wanted to do together. I say on hold, only because while I’ve been helping him with his business I’ve been learning everything I need to know to start my own. My passion for life, food, fitness, and family is obvious on my social media feeds. And I’m so excited to finally be sharing that all in one place. You’ll find that although I’ve become a mom, that’s not the only hat I wear.
I am also a wife. A small business owner. A BMW enthusiast. A climber. A runner. A foodie. A health nut. A fitness lover. A Jesus Follower. A good friend.
I am me.”
And more importantly I am passionate about sharing my journey to anyone who wants to hear how I do motherhood.
